Free style quilting from a Master....

I'm super lucky to live in Portland, Oregon. Not only is it just a crafty town to begin with but I've got an amazing modern quilt guild that I joined up with at the beginning of the year. Like super star amazing.

Another reason I'm lucky is that I got the last spot in the free style quilting class taught by none other than Elizabeth Hartman of Oh, Fransson! fame (and books! Really need the her new one Modern Patchwork.)

Last week was all about quilt sandwiching (which she's got a brilliant way to pin baste) and straight line quilting with a walking foot. Here's my attempt at echo shadow quilting with triangles. Needs a little refining!

So today I'm at the last of two classes free motioning by heart away and picking up all kinds of new tricks and ideas. I'll share more pictures...I have to get one with her...the obligatory fan pic!
Be a little jealous :) and live vicariously through me, it's cool! We share!
Cheers!

Oh, so lucky for your FMQ class, I'm so new to it and it still scares me! That white pattern is FMQ? Impressive!
